Film shoot...

Last week I was given the opportunity to work on an upcoming TV show. I probably shouldn't give out all the details. But it's been a blast driving all around South Florida and helping out the production team with locations and shoots. I've been randomly taken a picture here and there. Here are several shots from just one of the long days of filming all around South Florida. There will be plenty more. Enjoy.

Be on the look out for more shots now and then over the next few months of filming production.

"Don't take my picture"

I came across this great video this morning. I don't know how many of you have seen this yet, but it's pretty rad!
I think octopi are just the most amazing creatures & I love to draw and paint them. They're just extremely smart. Just for fun enjoy this video of the octopus that did not want his picture taken.

Sketching this week.

I have been doing quick little sketches & doodles a bunch this week. I wish more people did that. I feel like a kid everytime. It's just so relaxing to sit on my back porch and just draw whatever I see or comes to mind.
I rarely share my sketch books, but here are a few sketchs from this week. I also haven't drawn people in awhile, so I drew a friend of mine. Go doodle & share it with a friend. Enjoy.

I will post more as I find out when & exactly where you can get it. So far it has been a pretty fun project. The author has given me open creativity & free range as to what to create as I read the chapters. Below are the illustrations I did for Chapter 1 of the book...

Also just released. Select painting's by Patrick Maxcy designed on 3 limited edition mouse pads! These will not be on sale forever. So get yours today. Just double click on the one you like best. They came out pretty sweet in my opinion.

BlacknBleu Fest update

Yesterday...
I painted for 6.5 straight hours in the sun during the BlacknBleu Art & Music fest. I got pretty sun burnt but the event was fun. Lots of people came out and several bid on my mural I was painting. I had no clue what to paint but I knew the money was going to charity.
I decided to just create something different and fun. A few kids came up to me and asked "What are you painting?" I told them that using your imagination is a good thing and imagining funny unique creatures that one day might exist is fun. They seemed to like that. Here's what I came up with.
the mural sold to a 3d animator who bought it for his studio. My good friend's Mike, Kelly, & Keith also stopped by for the event.
Thanks to everyone for coming out and a huge thanks to BlacknBleu for putting on the whole production!

inspiration...

Someone recently asked me:
"What is your inspiration for your artwork?"

That question has always seemed so broad to me. What is anyone's inspiration to do anything really? I think life in general has an overabundance of inspiration daily.

People, trees, artwork, food, movies, tattoos, animals, planes, babies, the ocean, etc. All these things inspire me. Then I started looking around my house and seeing art and objects that I really like that inspire me daily. So I took a few random pictures in my home & studio and decided to share a sneak peek.
Studio wall- I do have quite a bit of artwork. Some originals and some prints. There is so many amazing artists in the world.
Some of the artwork that hangs on my walls include work by: Shepard Fairey, Gabe Leonard, Alex Pardee, Joshua Clay, Greg Simkins, Skot Olsen, Jen Lebo, Sam Flores, Brian Despain, Sas Christian, Johnathan Viner, Dave Kinsey, etc.
Random toys, art books, journals, & other objects people have given me are also a great deal of daily inspiration for creativity. Hope you enjoyed the little sneak peak. -PM
